How Ready Is a Country for Economic Transformation?
The infographic summarizes the readiness of 37 countries to achieve economic transformation. In other words, how ready a country is to move towards a full integration of social, environmental and institutional targets into their economic systems over the next five years. The data is taken from “The Global Competitiveness Report 2020” by World Economic Forum.
Nordic Countries Dominate Top 3
Finland ranks the first with a score of 69.9, then comes Sweden with a score of 68.5. Denmark follows the two with a score of 66.5. China achieves the top in Asia, positioning itself at the 5th in the world. Meanwhile, Australia is at the 14th with a score of 62, just before Japan and the U.K.
The report scores the countries according to 11 priorities. One of the 11 priorities is to upgrade infrastructure to accelerate the energy transition and broaden access to electricity and ICT (information and communications technology). In this priority, Estonia positions itself at the first with a score of 99.7.
