Global Gender Gap Index in 2021
The infographic presents the top and bottom 10 countries of the World Economic Forum’s Global Gender Gap Index 2021 rankings. The Global Gender Gap Report 2021 measures 156 countries’ gender gap, focusing on the four key dimensions. It measures Economic Participation and Opportunity, Educational Attainment, Health and Survival, and Political Empowerment. The higher the score, the closer the gap between genders.
Top 10 Mostly in the Nordic while Bottom 10 Mostly in the Greater Middle East
Nordic countries are dominant in the top 10 countries, with Iceland, Finland, Norway, and Sweden in the top 5. Others in the top 10 are New Zealand from Oceania, Namibia and Rwanda from Africa, and Ireland and Switzerland from Europe.
Afghanistan takes part in the rankings for the first time. However, Afghanistan appears at the bottom of the list just after Yemen, Iraq, and Pakistan. 7 out of the bottom 10 countries are in the Greater Middle East.
Overall, the difference in scores between the highest and the lowest is 0.448.
